Box Score Seguin, Texas - The Trinity football team was
led by an outstanding defensive effort in a 31-7 road win at Texas
Lutheran University on Saturday night.
The 12th-ranked Tigers improve to 2-0 on the season with the
win, which is the second straight over the Bulldogs. The win
also avenges a road loss to Texas Lutheran in 2010.
Despite being plagued by five fumbles (three lost), Trinity's
offense put together three straight scoring drives in the first
half to take a 17-0 lead by halftime.
Garrett Biel nailed a short field goal to open the scoring late
in the first quarter, then a fake punt on the next possession led
to a 39-yard TD pass from Nyk McKissic to Hagen Kattner.
McKissic then found tight end Mason Lytal for a score on the next
drive.
After Texas Lutheran scored early in the third quarter, McKissic
connected with Matthew Kennemer for his third touchdown pass of the
day. In the fourth, McKissic accounted for his fourth
touchdown, running one in from a yard out to cap the game's
scoring.

resulting in a missed field goal.
The only points allowed came after a Trinity turnover, which
gave the home team possession just 34 yards away from the end
zone. In the first half, Trinity gave up just 45 yards of
total offense, and forced Texas Lutheran into negative or zero
yards on five of seven possessions.
