Box Score San Antonio - Trinity's baseball team
opened up a full week of action with a 13-3 win over Cardinal
Stritch University on Monday night.
The Tigers earned their seventh consecutive victory overall, and
won by 10 or more runs for the second straight game. The game
started off with a bang, as the two teams combined to score six
runs in the first full inning.
Trinity answered a two-run first by Cardinal Stritch with four
runs in the bottom of the inning, and the Tigers never looked back.
Trinity added two more runs in the third, then another
four-spot in the fourth. In the seventh, the Tigers scored
three more runs to end their scoring, but Cardinal Stritch was able
to grab one more run in the ninth.
Zack Speer (2-0) allowed two runs on five hits through five
innings, striking out eight batters. He finished his night by not
allowing a hit over his final three innings, settling in nicely
after a rough start. Teddy Turner, Franklin Bay, and Kyle
Bogese allowed just two hits over the final four innings, striking
out six batters.
Pat Hirschberg continued his hot hitting with a 3-3 performance
in tonight's game, scoring two runs and collecting five RBI.
He hit his sixth home run of the season, as well as his sixth
double among his three hits.
Jeremy Wolf was 2-3 with a run and two RBI, while Austin Singer
and Connor Moore also picked up two hits each. Singer scored
two runs for the Tigers, as did Will Donnan. Donnan was 1-1
with a walk before leaving the game.
Trinity will be back in action on Thursday night, hosting
DeSales University at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers will then hit the
road for three-game conference series against Centenary College.
