Box Score Austin, Texas - Trinity's 10th-ranked baseball
team earned its third consecutive victory with a 2-1 road win over
Concordia (TX) University on Tuesday night.
The Tigers improved to 27-7, while Concordia fell to 18-18 on
the season. Trinity also beat Concordia 8-2 in San Antonio
earlier this season, sweeping the regular season series between the
two teams.
Trinity got a run in the second on a Jeremy Wolf single, but the
Tigers left the bases loaded, and missed a shot at a big inning.
Concordia tied the game with a solo home run in the third,
but Trinity got another score on a sacrifice fly by Christian
Muscarello to regain the lead in the seventh.
Andrew Alig went 7.1 innings to bump his season record to 3-1,
allowing one run on five hits, and striking out six batters.
Michael Bentz came on in relief, striking out two batters in
the final 1.2 innings to earn his second save of the year.
Bentz faced just five batters, and didn't allow a hit to
finish off the game.
Wolf went 2-4 with the RBI, while Muscarello was 1-2 on the day.
Will Donnan and Kelly Woodruff scored runs for the Tigers,
and Woodruff also had two hits on a 2-3 night.
Trinity resumes Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action
this weekend, hosting the University of Dallas in a two-game series
that begins on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
