Box Score

Sherman, Texas -- The third-ranked Trinity Tigers baseball team opened defense of its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a 9-1 victory over the Austin College Kangaroos Saturday at Baker Field.

Trinity (13-1) won its ninth straight game, while Austin College dropped to 2-10 on the season.

First baseman Nick Jewett opened the scoring in the game with a solo home run, his first of the season, in the second inning. The Tigers blasted open the game with a five-run sixth inning, anchored by an RBI single by shortstop Christian Muscarello.
