Box Score Winneconne, Wisconsin - The Tiger men's and women's cross country teams finished in the top-25 Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh AAE Invitational.
Trinity's men placed 19th of 45 teams, with a score of 539, and the Tiger women came in at No. 23, scoring 619, with a field of 46 squads at the Lake Breeze Golf Club. Featuring many of the top teams in the NCAA Division III, the event is often referred to as “Pre Nationals.” Lake Breeze will serve as the site for the NCAA Championships on November 21.
"Today was a good day to see how we stack up against other top D-III schools nationally," said Head Coach Emily Daum. "We still have some work to do. We are getting into the last stretch of the season, so it'll be exciting to see how the workouts they're doing now will translate to improvement in the coming weeks."
Emma MacEachern was Trinity's top-finisher, running the women's 6k race in 22:42. MacEachern placed 66th of some 414 competitors. Molly McCullough came in at No. 105 (23:09), and Haley McFadden crossed the line in 23:21, for a No. 131 finish.
Oliver Langselius was 75th of 419 runners in the men's 8k event, clocking in at 25:42. Taylor Piske crossed the finish line in 25:53, and placed No. 98 in the field. Austin Brown was 106th, just .04 seconds behind his teammate.
The Tiger teams will compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships October 31 at Sherman, Texas. Trinity's squads finished as runners-up at the 2014 championships, held at Boerne, Texas.
