San Antonio - George Rivers and Stephane Dal Soglio have been appointed the respective Trinity men's and women's tennis Assistant Coaches. Each brings a wealth of experience to the Tigers programs.
Coach Rivers is completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Indiana University. He was a letter winner on the Hoosiers men's team from 2013-15. Indiana completed the 2014-15 campaign with a No. 46 ranking in the NCAA Division I. Prior to transferring to Indiana. Coach Rivers competed at Tyler (TX) Junior College. He captured the National Junior College Athletic Association Doubles Championship in 2013, and also was a singles finalist. Coach Rivers' teaching experience includes serving as an instructor at the Giammalva Elite Tennis Academy in Houston, Texas, and at the Apache Tennis Camp, held at Tyler JC.
Coach Dal Soglio worked for over two years at the John Newcombe Tennis Academy at New Braunfels, Texas. He was the fitness director and a tennis coach at the prestigious training academy. A native of France, Coach Dal Soglio was the strength and conditioning coach at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, and served as the tennis coach at the Isles Tennis Club. Both are located in his home country. Coach Dal Soglio earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science and physical education from Lindenwood (MO) University in 2011, and a Master of Science from the Saint Charles school in 2012. He was the assistant coach for the men's team at Lindenwood from 2011 to 2012, and competed on the squad the previous two years. Coach Dal Soglio also received a Bachelor of Arts degree as a conditioning coach from Limoges (France) University in 2009.
The Tiger men's Head Coach is Russell McMindes, in his seventh season at the helm. The former Trinity standout was named the NCAA Division III Coach of the Year in 2014, after the Tigers finished third at the NCAA Championships. He has led his players to four Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships. Trinity also captured the 2015 ITA National Indoor Team Championship.
Gretchen Rush, a former Trinity All-American, an NCAA Division I Doubles champion, and former top-ranked pro player, is in her second year as the women's head coach. She has guided her team to the NCAA Tournament and to high individual finishes at the ITA National Small College Championships.
