Box Score San Antonio - Trinity's baseball team
finished off a three-game weekend series against the University of
Dallas with a 12-0 shutout victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers improved to 7-2 with their third straight victory,
while Dallas fell to 4-6 on the season. Trinity won 6-5 and
7-3 in Saturday afternoon's doubleheader. Today's game saw
Trinity's offense hammer out 17 hits over six innings, while Dallas
also committed five errors that led to a pair of unearned runs.
Trinity scored in all but one inning in the game, including
seven runs combined in the fifth and sixth to finish things off.
The Tigers were up 5-0 after just three innings.
Michael Walker (3-0) tossed six shutout innings to open the
game, recording six strikeouts, and allowing just two hits.
Troy Nelson finished things off for the Tiger pit ching
staff, striking out two and giving up one hit in the final
frame.
Colin Serkowski led a trio of Tigers with multiple hits, going
3-3 with a double and three runs scored. Jeremy Wolf and Jose
Santos both went 2-3 with two RBI each, while Wolf added two runs
scored as well.
Trinity resumes its home stand with a 7:00 p.m. game against the
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night. The Tigers
will host Cardinal Stritch University at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday as
well.
