Trinity Rallies for Road Win Over Mary Hardin-Baylor

Box Score

Belton, Texas - The sixth-ranked Tiger baseball team rallied for a 12-6 road win over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday night.

Trinity improved to 18-8 with its second consecutive victory, while UMHB fell to 13-9 after the loss.  The Tigers scored nine unanswered runs on their way to the win, and both teams wound up with five-run innings in the game.

The Crusaders struck first with a run in the first inning, but Trinity scored three runs in the second and third to take its first lead.  UMHB then scored five times in the bottom of the third, taking advantage of two Tiger errors to plate three unearned runs, and pull back in front 6-3.

In the fifth, it was Trinity's turn for a big inning, scoring five runs on just one hit.  The Tiger offense took advantage of a pass ball, wild pitch, and two walks with the bases loaded.  The very next inning, Trinity turned it into an 11-6 lead with three more runs, then added a final run in the top of the seventh.

Trinity tallied 12 total hits in the game, and three Tiger players had three hits each.  Carter McEachern led the way with a 3-3 performance, hitting three doubles and scoring three runs.  Austin Singer was 3-4 with three runs and three RBI, cracking his team-leading sixth homer of the season.  Colin Serkowski also had three hits, going 3-5 with one RBI.

Matt Tindall (1-1) allowed three earned runs (six total) on six hits over his five innings as the Tiger starter, while Teddy Turner came on in relief to earn the save over a four-inning outing.  Tindall struck out six batters, while Turner finished the game with five.

Jeremy Wolf and Nick Jewett scored two runs each in the game, while Wolf also hit his second home run of the year.  Connor Moore added three RBI for the Tigers as well.

Trinity has a quick turnaround for its next game, returning home for a matchup with Concordia (TX) University at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night.
