Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

San Antonio - The 15th-ranked Trinity Tigers baseball team blasted four home runs Saturday to take the doubleheader of the weekend Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series with the Schreiner University Mountaineers.

Trinity won the opening run-rule game 12-2 in eight innings, and then prevailed 6-3 in the second half of the twinbill at the Trinity Baseball Field. Serkowski leads the Tigers with a .385 batting average.

Matt Tindall (3-1) was the starting pitcher and claimed the victory. Tindall hurled 5 ⅔ innings, and yielded two earned runs, three hits, and did not give up a walk. He also fanned six Mountaineer players. Teddy Turner and Michael Maul were the relief pitchers in the shortened game.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in game 2 on a run scored by Connor Moore, who led off the first inning with a double. But Schreiner evened the game at 1-1 with a home run in the second inning. Serkowski and Jeremy Wolf each accounted for RBI doubles in the three-run third stanza. In Trinity's half of the fifth inning, Butler smacked his second home run of the day, and his third of the season. Butler hit 2-4 with an RBI and one run scored. He leads the team with 36 RBI, and is second in batting average, at .371. Moore went 3-4 and scored two runs.

Ryan Gray (6-0) had the starting nod and pitched six innings. Gray allowed one earned run, four hits. one walk, and struck out four batters.
