Box Score Richardson, Texas - The 12th-ranked Trinity volleyball team was eliminated 3-1 by #25 Hendrix (AR) College Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Division III Regional.

MATCH SUMMARY
Hendrix won the match 25-21, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22, which was hosted by the University of Texas-Dallas.
The Tigers took a 17-15 lead in the opening set, but the Warriors won the next seven points to gain control. Trinity fought back and closed to 21-22, but Hendrix won the next three points to take the 1-0 match lead.
After falling behind early in the second set, the Tigers won five straight points to take a 9-8 lead and never looked back. Trinity was up 18-12 and 21-13 late, holding off the Warriors to even things up 1-1.
Hendrix came out on fire in the third set, sprinting to a 17-9 lead, and the Tigers never recovered as the Warriors went back in front 2-1 in the match. The fourth set was very close, but after Trinity led 19-17, Hendrix tied the match 21-21, and won four of the last five to close out the win.
NOTABLES
The Tigers concluded their season with a 27-8 record, while the Warriors improved to 25-7. Hendrix advanced to Saturday's second round, and will meet either fourth-ranked UT-Dallas or Whitworth (WA) University.
Trinity made its 22nd overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and the first since 2014. The Tigers earned their berth by winning the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, the 18th in Trinity's column, and third in the last four seasons.
Senior Erika Edrington posted a double-double of a match-high 40 assists, while producing 14 digs. Edrington finished the season with 1,174 assists, and her career with 4,420. She stands third in Trinity career assists in the record book.
Kirby Smith accounted for a double-double of 15 kills and 15 digs. Sarah Mullens led the Tigers with 22 digs in her column.
