San Antonio - The Trinity men's basketball program has earned a 2015-16 Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

The Tigers have now received the honor for the fourth consecutive year. The award, which began in the 2012-13 season, recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Trinity finished up strong in the 2015-16 campaign, winning four of its last six regular-season games. The Tiger squad headed to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at Shreveport, Louisiana, as the fifth-seeded team. Host Centenary College prevailed 57-55 in a thriller. Trinity completed the season with a 10-16 record.

Leading the Tigers is Head Coach Pat Cunningham, who has completed 17 seasons at the helm. His assistant coaches are Ross Burt and David Smith.
