Trinity Women's Basketball Ranked Ninth in the Nation

San Antonio - The Trinity women's basketball team has been ranked ninth in the nation by the latest d3hoops.com Top-25 Poll.

The Tigers, led by fifth-year Head Coach Cameron Hill, are having a successful season. Trinity currently stands at 22-1 overall, and is 11-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Additionally, the Tigers are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak.

Trinity broke into the Division III poll last December at #18 and has been climbing steadily ever since. The last time the Tigers were ranked in the top-10 was 2009 when they made it to eighth. Over the years, the Tigers have been ranked as high as fifth and sixth, but the pinnacle occurred in 2003 when Trinity captured the NCAA Division III Championship.

The most recent Division III statistical rankings have placed the Tigers with the sixth-best record in the nation. With its aggressive squad, Trinity is ranked 11th in steals per game with an average of 14.3 per matchup.

Individually, junior Micah Weaver is ranked 30th in field goal percentage with a mark of 55.6%. Senior Grace Horn stands at #31 in assists to turnovers ratio at 2.05.

The Tigers have two more regular-season games on their slate starting Thursday at Kerrville, Texas against Schreiner University. Trinity wraps up its regular-season schedule Saturday by hosting Schreiner at 4:00 p.m.

Trinity will defend its conference title at the SCAC Championship February 24-26 in Georgetown, Texas where the teams will battle for an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
