#1 Trinity Concluded Weekend Series With 6-3 Win Over HSU

Box Score

Abilene, Texas – The #1 Trinity baseball team finished off a three-game weekend series sweep by defeating Hardin-Simmons (TX) University 6-3 on Saturday afternoon.

GAME SUMMARY

Trinity got the scoring going with three runs on three hits in the third inning, then added single runs in each of the next three innings to push it to a 6-0 advantage.

Hardin-Simmons broke up the shutout with a run in the bottom of the seventh, then staged a two-out rally in the ninth. The Cowboys got a pair of runs across to cut into the Tiger lead, but Trinity was able to avoid a repeat of last night's ninth-inning rally and win the game.

Trinity stranded the bases loaded three times in the game, just missing the chance to turn the game into a blowout win.
