Southwestern answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-1, but the Tigers never gave up the lead.

Rafe Chaumette hit a solo homer with one out in the fifth, keying a three-run inning that put the Tigers in front 8-1.

Southwestern got two runs in the sixth and seventh to close the gap to 8-5, but Trinity added three insurance runs in the final two innings to hold on for the win.

The Tigers started quickly again in game two as Dalys Binder started the scoring with his RBI double. Brannen Caraway had a two-run double later in the inning, and Trinity took a 3-0 lead.

After three scoreless innings for the home team, the Pirates got on the board in the fourth, tying the game 3-3 with two hits and a Tiger error.

Jake Martin led off the fifth with a solo homer to put Trinity back in front 4-3, but Southwestern strung together a four-hit inning that led to two more runs and a 5-4 lead for the home team.

That lead didn't last long, as the Tigers took advantage of a leadoff walk in the sixth that wound up scoring to tie the game.

Trinity seemingly put the game away with a four-run eighth inning that featured three Tiger hits. Chaumette drove in the final two runs of the inning that put his team on top 9-5.

Southwestern got two quick outs in the bottom of the eighth, but then rallied to score three runs on a base-clearing double that made it a 9-8 game heading into the final inning.

The Tigers scratched across an insurance run in the top of the inning, and then Mark Tindall struck out the side in the ninth to close out the day.
