San Antonio - Three members of the 13th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team have received weekly honors from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).

Senior Jordan Pitts was named SCAC Men's Tennis Singes Player of the Week, while sophomore Christian Settles and first-year Hao Nguyen were tabbed as the Doubles Team of the Week. All performed admirably during the first six matches of the spring season for the Tigers.

Trinity opened its season in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Pitts captured three of his four matches at the #2 singles position. He defeated a player from Division II's ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific University, then won his second-line match against D-III's #24 California Institute of Technology.

Pitts fell to the #2 player from second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges, but bounced back to win his matchup with Pacific (OR) University. In Corpus Christi, Texas, Pitts lost both #2 singles matches to D-I team Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Pitts stands at 3-3 overall this season and is 2-1 against D-III competition.

Settles and Nguyen won all three of their doubles matches together in Hawaii. First up was a third-line victory over Hawaii Pacific, followed by #2 doubles wins over Caltech and Claremont.

The Tigers defeated Caltech and Pacific, and lost to Hawaii Pacific and Claremont in Hawaii. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took both matches in Texas. The Tigers now stand at 2-4 overall and are 2-1 against DIII opponents.

Trinity heads to Abilene, Texas, for two matches on Saturday. The Tigers meet D-I Abilene Chrsitian (TX) University, followed by a matchup against Tyler Junior College. Tyler JC is ranked #1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association and is the reigning national junior college champion.
