Trinity Volleyball paces SCAC 30th Anniversary team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Trinity University volleyball program led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's 30th Anniversary team with five selections, the league office announced Thursday.

The chosen five of Sara Buros, Erika Edrington, Maggie Emodi, Caroline Keener and Kirby Smith combined for a pair of SCAC Player-of-the-Year Awards, a pair of SCAC Freshman-of-the-Year awards, 11 All-America selections and 16 All-SCAC nods.

Since the 2005 campaign, Trinity Volleyball has collected 12 NCAA Tournament Appearances, eight conference titles, 28 All-America selections across 21 different players, five of Head Coach Julie Jenkins' conference-record 14 SCAC Coach-of-the-Year nods, seven 30-win seasons and a grand total of 424 victories.

The SCAC 30th Anniversary Volleyball team was selected through balloting by present coaches and administrators. The 30th Anniversary team is made up of athletes from the 2005 season through the 2019 season that had been named to at least two All-SCAC teams and/or were a selected as a Player-of-the-Year.

The SCAC will be announcing 30th Anniversary teams in 21 sports throughout the 2020-21 academic year. The league selected 15th Anniversary teams during the 2005-06 academic year – those selections can be found here.
