Women's Swimming and Diving

No. 21 Women's Swimming and Diving Wins Tiger Invite

SAN ANTONIO - The Women's Swimming and Diving Squad wrapped up the three day Tiger Invite event by taking first place out of five teams. Trinity finished with a team score of 1323. Southwestern University took second place with a team score of 794. The women took a commanding lead after day one and continued to build on that big lead. Trinity placed first in numerous finals throughout the Tiger Invite. 

The quartet of Mabel Fowler (Uvalde, Texas / Uvalde), Meghan Magill (Longmont, Colo. / Silver Creek), Morgen Reyna (Houston, Texas / Stratford) and Emma Hagan (Overland Park, Kan. / Olathe East) took first place in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:29.35. The "B group" that consisted of Elizabeth Molique (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Saguaro) Logann Khollman (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis), Libby Goode (League City, Texas / Clear Creek) and Caroline Myers (Austin, Texas / Bowie) finished third in the relay with a time of 3:38.74. 

Josie Gillentine (Heath, Texas / Rockwall Heath), Molique and Karin Petersen (Cibolo, Texas / Randolph) raced to take the first three spots in the 100 yard IM final. Gillentine touched the wall in 59.95, while Molique and Peterson finished with times of 1:02.37 and 1:05.13. 

Fowler touched the wall with a time of 2:03.59 in the 200 yard backstroke to claim first place. Hagan raced to a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.41. Reyna took third in the same event with a time of 52.54. 

Jadyn Trahan (League City, Texas / Clear Springs), Gillentine and Kara Moss (Houston, Texas / Stratford) finished first, second and third in the 200 yard breaststroke. Trahan paced the group with a time of 2:22.71. Gillentine and Moss were behind here with times of 2:25.66 and 2:29.00. 

Meyers finished second in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:10.53. Blythe Iverson (Aurora, Colo. / Smoky Hill) and Petersen took second and third in the 1650 yard freestyle final with times of 18:06.16 and 18:32.35.

The Tigers will host Oklahoma Christian University on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at the Hixon Natatorium. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
