The Rundown
The Tigers opened the game with an 11-3 run over the first 2:28 of the first quarter, including a pair of three-pointers from Milton. The Bulldogs then scored the final seven points of the period to draw within one, but Trinity held on for a 16-15 lead after one.
Texas Lutheran took its first lead of the game after scoring the opening bucket of the second quarter, but Trinity broke up the 9-0 run that extended back to the opening period with a layup from Maggie Robbins (Plano, Texas / Plano) with just under eight minutes left in the half. The Tigers never trailed again the rest of the game and the second quarter proved to be the turning point in the game.

Kelly Simmons (Washington, D.C. / Antonian) scored a pair of layups in the final 1:02 of the second quarter, then Coleman beat the buzzer with a layup of her own to make it a 38-25 halftime advantage for the visitors.

Coleman scored five of the eight points, capped by a layup and free throw with 8:40 left. Texas Lutheran scored 11 of the next 13 to drop the deficit down to 12 points, then continued to chip away down the stretch. Trinity was held to just six more points in the period after the initial stretch, and the Bulldogs cut the lead to just 52-46 by scoring eight of the final nine points of the third quarter.
The fourth quarter began with Robbins connecting on a layup to extend the lead to eight, but Texas Lutheran rallied again with six straight points to cut it to a two-point game with just over seven minutes left in the game. Simmons hit a clutch three-pointer to break up the run and push the lead back to five, sparking a 14-1 Trinity run that put the game away. The Tiger defense held the Bulldogs without a field goal for more than seven minutes during the final quarter – a streak that wasn't broken up until just 40 seconds were left in a 15-point game.

Coach Speak
"Every time we play in Seguin, I feel like Kevin Bacon is somewhere nearby addressing the town council," said Coach Hill after the win. "It's just a hard place to be from 'out of town' and if you want to dance, you have to find an abandoned warehouse and roll the dice. Tonight, we went ahead and rolled the dice and we danced, because there is a time for every purpose under heaven – including winning at TLU."
