Box Score ALPINE, Texas – No. 18 Trinity University Men's Basketball dropped the last of its five-straight regular-season matchups away from home to open the 2022-23 campaign Wednesday, 93-88, at Sul Ross State University.
The Tigers (3-2) collected five double-digit scoring outputs, three representing career-highs, in the high-scoring affair, led by junior
Tanner Brown (San Antonio, Texas / Brandeis) with 13 points that featured a trio of made shots from beyond the arc.
All of the other four double-digit performances netted 11 points each, including senior
AJ Clark (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) who posted his entire scoring total in the second half.
The three career-bests marked in double figures came from junior
Grayson Herr (Farmington, Conn. / Farmington), sophomore
Jacob Millhouse (Plano, Texas / Independence) and first-year
Kevin Garcia (Laredo, Texas / Wagner). Garcia posted nine of his 11 points in the first period while Herr and Millhouse collected nine and eight points, respectively, in the second.
No. 18 Men's Basketball opens the 2022-23 home schedule, and the 2022 Leslie Robinson Thanksgiving Classic Friday at 2:00 p.m. in a matchup with McMurry University. Another 2:00 p.m. tip-off with Hardin-Simmons University rounds out the weekend in San Antonio ahead of the first weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
