ABILENE, Texas – Trinity University Women's Tennis fell to NCAA I Abilene Christian University, 7-0, to conclude its season-opening road weekend.
The Tigers (1-1) stole a pair of singles sets in Saturday morning's matchup between the first two lines in the book in sophomore
Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) and first-year
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy). Hill earned a 6-2 second set immediately after being within striking distance in her first set before falling in a 12-10 tiebreak; Levy fired out of the gate with a first-set 6-2 victory.
A pair of doubles matchups finished with 6-4 margins between Levy and junior
Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heritage) in the first line and junior
Ella Cummings (Albuquerque, N.M. / Sandia) and sophomore
Brooke Belitz (Scottsdale, Ariz. / Notre Dame).
Trinity Women's Tennis returns to San Antonio Friday for its home-opener, a 3:00 p.m. bout with Our Lady of the Lake University.
