Tiger Women's Soccer Falls to UTD in Last Minute Nail Biter

The Tiger Women's Soccer team was defeated by University of Texas-Dallas by a score of 1-0 in the final minutes of Sunday's game.

The Rundown

The Tigers (2-3-1) were shooting early and often, getting the first shot of the game off just eight minutes into the match off the foot of Dabney Moore (Nashville, Tennessee / University School of Nashville). The Tigers had all the offensive momentum in the first half, out shooting the Comets 5-0.

The second half started out with another shot off the foot of Moore in the 49th minute. The first shot on goal of the match did not come till the 53rd minute when Michaela Bosco (Weatherford, Texas / Weatherford) sent a ball to the bottom right of the goal, but it was saved by the Comet goalkeeper. The Comets sent a shot to the goal in the 57th minute, but it was a great save by goalkeeper Lauryn Lewis (Carrollton, Texas / Creekview), her first of five saves on the day.

The Tigers and Comets would be at a stalemate until the final the Comets found the back of the with just 1:36 left on the clock, which would ultimately be the deciding goal. This would be the tenth time that the Tigers and Comets have faced off since 2009, with the Tigers taking the first nine matchups.
