The Rundown
The teams traded three-pointers to open the game, but Austin College never led again after
Tanner Brown (San Antonio, Texas / Brandeis) hit a game-tying three-pointer at the 17:34 mark of the first half. Harvey then scored nine of Trinity's next 11 points during a 14-2 run that put Trinity up 19-10 with under 12 minutes to go in the half. Consecutive baskets by the home team cut the lead to just four points with 8:25 left until the break, but Trinity scored eight of the next 10 points to snag its first double-digit lead of the game at 27-17 just over two minutes later. The Tiger defense held Austin College without a field goal for the final 3:47 of the period and took a 41-24 lead into the locker room.
Trinity grew the margin up to 19 points early in the second period on a three-pointer from Harvey, but Austin College rallied shortly after and made it a 10-point game at the 13:02 mark. Harvey nailed a pair of long-range shots over a stretch of less than two minutes to switch the momentum back in favor of the Tigers. Trinity had the lead back to 18 points with less than 10 minutes to go, then used a 17-5 run a few minutes later to build its largest lead of the night at 83-57 with less than two minutes left.
