COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 14th-ranked Trinity University men's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against fourth-ranked Colorado College in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Sunday afternoon.
The two Tiger teams came into the game tied atop the conference standings with 24 total points and they will remain tied as the weekend ends. Trinity saw its 13-game winning streak ended but are still unbeaten overall at 13-0-3 (8-0-1 SCAC). Colorado College falls to 13-1-3 (8-0-1) on the season and also ends an eight-game winning streak.
Hunter Cain (Katy, Texas / Cinco Ranch) scored the goal for Trinity on a penalty kick, then Colorado College tied the game just before halftime. Neither team scored again and Trinity was able to preserve the tie despite playing a man down the entire second period.
Omkar Satpathy (Pleasanton, Calif. / Amador Valley) recorded a career-high six saves in the game, including three second half saves to keep the game tied at 1-1.
Trinity returns home next weekend to finish off regular season play, hosting the University of the Ozarks (AR) on Friday at 5:00 p.m., and Centenary College (LA) on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
