Trinity University Football is back at home for more Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play against Sewanee.
The Tigers (2-2) dropped their first conference game to Centre last week, 24-12.
Will Taylor (Houston, Texas / Strake Jesuit) scored the only touchdown for the Tigers in the game as well as hauling in a career-high eight receptions for 62 total yards.
Tyler Huettel (McKinney, Texas / McKinney) went 2-2 on field goals today, highlighted by a 46-yard boot early in the game.
Cade Rabson (The Woodlands, Texas / College Park) collected 12 total tackles as he was the only Tiger with double-digit tackles.
Max Shilstone (Houston, Texas / Lamar) and
Johnny Nwobodo (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) each recorded a sack.
Winston Hutchison (Round Rock, Texas / McNeil) toted the ball nine times for 47 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. As a team, Trinity totaled 107 yards rushing and 4.71 yards per play. The Tigers also had a better time of possession with 31:38 compared to Centres 28:22.
SAA Special Teams Player of the Week - Tyler Huettel
For the second time in his career, senior
Tyler Huettel has been selected as the SAA Special Teams Player of the Week.

Huettel went 2-for-2 on field goals, hitting from 46 and 38 yards as Trinity opened SAA play with a loss to Centre. Huettel also had touchbacks on all four of his kickoffs in the game, while averaging 31 yards per punt - including a 48-yarder among his three attempts.

The Tigers will be back in San Antonio to play against Sewanee on October 12th with a noon kickoff.
On the Sewanee Tigers: So far this season, Sewanee has a record of 1-3 (0-1 SAA). After losing their first game to Maryville, the Tigers bounced back with a dominant 42-0 victory over Westminster College. However, they then suffered back-to-back losses to Guilford College and Millsaps. Offensively, Sewanee will rely on quarterback Jacorin Thomas, who has amassed 382 total yards, averaging 5.1 yards per carry this season. He has also thrown for 517 yards and six touchdowns, although he has recorded five interceptions. Thomas will distribute the ball to several targets, primarily wide receivers Dyer Barnes and AJ McLemore, both of whom have 15 receptions.
Defensively, Sewanee is aggressive, ranking fifth in the country with 18 total team sacks. They are also seventh in total tackles for loss with 37. Senior linebacker Keegan Glaze leads the team with 34 total tackles, while freshman defensive tackle Balint Rendessy has 3.5 sacks.
In their last matchup, Trinity defeated Sewanee 44-6, extending their all-time record against them to 28-4. Trinity has not lost to Sewanee since 1992 and has outscored them 1,020 to 337 over that span.
