Box Score SAN ANTONIO - No. 22 Tiger Baseball picks up a massive 15-14 come-from-behind victory in game two against Babson.
Â
The Tigers (2-0) pulled a rabbit out of their hats for some Trinity magic. The Tigers collected 14 total hits and capitalized on 3 Babson errors.
Cristian Holloway (Brownsville, Texas / Veterans Memorial) led Trinity, going 2-2 and driving in five.
Trajan Lee (Dallas, Texas / John Paul II) picked up the win on the hill, going 2 and a third and only giving up one earned.Â

The Rundown
Â
Trinity's defense was on display early when
Nicholas Lazzara (Carrollton, Texas / Jesuit College Prep) hit the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag as he rocketed a throw to catch a runner stealing. Just like he did last night,
Maddox McDonald (San Antonio, Texas / Antonian) led the Tigers off with a single. Trinity would score early with a sacrifice fly from
Khalfani Coney (Los Angeles, California / Sacred Heart Prep) to put TU up 1-0 early. However, Babson would respond and tie up the game at one apiece. Pitching was strong with the Tigers as
Luke Pfeiffer (Valencia, California / Trinity Classical Academy) put up two blanks in the third and fourth that included a three up-three down effort.Â
Â
In the fifth and sixth, Babson scored first with two runs in each inning but TU had the bats ready to respond.
Ty Preston (Pearland, Texas / Pearland) led off with a walk and forced the Beavers to call the pen but that proved to be zero help. Lazzara and Coney hit two lasers up the middle for singles that would bring in one.
Colt Harris (Katy, Texas / Houston Christian) hit a sacrifice liner to right and brought in another. The next at bat, Babson made a crucial error on a muffed catch at short and Coney would take advantage of the misplay and score. Another roped single by
Kai Tinker (Simi Valley, California / Grace Brethren) and the game would be locked at five heading into the final third of the game.
Â
The last third of the game was electric. Babson scored nine runs in the top of the seventh to go up 14-5 and shut down Trinity in the bottom of the inning. Just when it all looked lost,
Trajan Lee shut the door on Babson in the eighth, and the beast was awakened.
Brandon Nelson (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) and Harris found a way for
Cristian Holloway. Holloway found the gab for an RBI double to jolt the Tigers back to life. With Holloway on,
Pierce Matthews (Carrollton, Texas / Hebron) got the crowd on their feet with a booming home run that might have left a dent in the scoreboard and the Tigers were scratching runs across the board as it would be 9-14. Consecutive hits put a runner in scoring position for a Babson error that scored another run and Trinity was into double digits and you could feel the magic coming from head to toe. Nelson would hit a seeing-eye single that scored just one more and it was now 11-14. A walk by Harris loaded the bases for one Crisitian Holloway. After working a full count, Holloway ripped an up and out fastball for the go-ahead grand slam BOMB and Trinity clawed their way back to go up 15-14 into the final inning. Lee came back in the top of the ninth and did the work himself. He struck out the first batter looking, got an assist for the next out, and then froze the next batter with a backdoor two-seam fastball and Trinity completed the historic comeback. Trinity wins 15-14.
