Preview - Big Cat Party
Â
The Tigers will take on the Mountaineers of Schreiner on Tuesday, February 6th at 7:30 PM, and then be back in Calgaard to take on the Colorado College Tigers on Sunday, February 11th at 2:00 PM.Â
Â
On the Schreiner Mountaineers: Schreiner is 7-14 this season. The Mountaineers are 4-2 in their last six games, but one of those wins included taking down SCAC third ranked Texas Lutheran. For the Mountaineers, they were blown out by Trinity 89-61. Schreiner continues to struggle shooting, as they are only converting on 38 percent of their shots this season. The Mountaineers will lean on a duo of junior guards that both average over 10 points per game this season. Schreiner is allowing 16 offensive rebounds per game this season, so look for the Tigers to crash the boards hard for second chance points. The Tigers are now 26-4 all-time against Schreiner.Â
Â
On the Colorado College Tigers: Colorado College is 16-5 (10-2 SCAC) so far. The other Tigers were tearing through SCAC play, winning 8 of their first nine games but have been defeated twice by Texas Lutheran. Colorado has been carried by Zoe Tomlinson who is averaging 16.5 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season. Tomlinson and Colorado defeated Trinity in their last face off. Tomlinson put up 13 points and 16 rebounds. However, Tomlinson can get in foul trouble, so look for the Tigers to try to go at her early to get her to the sideline. After the last game, the Tigers are now 36-7 against Colorado all-time.Â
Â
Looking Ahead - Finishing the Regular Season
Â
