SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University Softball finishes off the series sweep by defeating Schreiner on Sunday afternoon.
Â
The Tigers (11-5) defeated Schreiner 6-2.
Cameron Bishop (Austin, Texas / Stephen F. Austin) picked up the win in the circle after throwing two no-hit innings and collecting two strikeouts.
Jordyn Williams (Clayton, California / Clayton Valley Charter) tacked on to her stellar weekend by going two-for-two at the plate while collecting four RBIs.
Samantha Tagawa (Agoura Hills, California / Agoura) was also perfect at the dish by going two-for-two and also drawing two base on balls. With her two walks, Tagawa has now tied the Trinity single-season record for walks in a season (19). The Tigers are now 3-0 in SCAC play.Â

The Rundown
Â
Yet again, the Tigers showed off the sticks early. Tagawa started the day off with an infield single and
Hayden Del Toro (Cypress, Texas / Cy Woods) squared up a bunt to find her way on. After a walk, Williams took four straight balls to bring in the first run of the game. Later in the inning, the Schreiner pitcher would send one wide, allowing another Tiger to touch the plate. Through one, Trinity goes up 2-0.
Â
After Tiger pitching put up bagels in the second and third, it was about time to extend the lead. Williams found a way on via the walk and
Carsyn Lee (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound) roped a ball through the left side to advance Williams into scoring position. After that,
Sydney Watson (San Antonio, Texas / San Antonio Christian) brought the boom by singling up the middle to bring one in and stretch the lead to 3-0 through three innings.Â
Â
Bishop retired the Mountaineers in order and that brought the top of the Tiger order up to the dish. Tagawa and
Hannah Boudreaux (Pearland, Texas / Shadow Creek) walked to put runners on first and second. After all of her walks, Williams was ready for a pitch in the zone and that's exactly what she got. Williams smoked a double into the left center gap and both runners wheeled around the bases to score two more and the Tigers were up 5-0.
Â
Schreiner put up two in the top of the sixth but the Tigers got one back from a
Jordyn Williams single up the middle. Going into the top half of the last inning,
Megan Kriechbaum (Cedar Hills, Utah / Pleasant Grove) struck out one, struck out two, and there it was… she fanned the side and the Tigers picked up the 6-2 win.Â
