No. 6 Tiger Men's Tennis Set To Face Southwestern And Colorado

No. 6 Tiger Men's Tennis laces up for a pair of SCAC foes this weekend.

The Tigers (11-8) are coming off a single-match weekend for the first time this season. Trinity walloped UC-Santa Cruz in a 9-0 sweep. Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colorado / Regis Jesuit) and Eric Liao (Taipei, Taiwan / Boca Prep (Florida)) secured the most dominant win in doubles play by beating UCSC's #2 doubles team 8-1. Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) destroyed in #4 singles, winning both sets by a score of 6-1. The Tigers now have the second best-record in the SCAC, just a win behind Southwestern.

Preview - Tigers vs Yellow & Gold

Trinity will be staying home to play against nationally-ranked Southwestern on Friday, April 19th at 6:30 PM. The next match will have a turnaround time of fewer than 24 hours as it will be a Trinity vs Colorado face-off on Saturday, April 20th at 2:00 PM.

On the No.36 Southwestern Pirates: The Pirates are 12-7 so far this season. Although Southwestern does have a winning record, they have struggled against teams that are in the top half of the rankings. The Pirates are 1-5 against teams ranked 25th or higher. However, Southwestern is 6-1 in their last seven matches so they have found a little bit of a groove. SW's most impressive wins came against Carnegie Mellon and a dominant win over Concordia (TX). Southwestern is a team that will play tough in every match so it will require a full team effort. Trinity has done that as they are 15-2 against the Pirates since 2009.

On the Colorado College Tigers: The Tigers of yellow and gold having a tough season with a 5-10 record so far. CC is 0-3 against ranked opponents but did take two sets from No. 35 Chapman. Where Colorado gets behind is in doubles. So far this season the Tigers are 14-30 with two people on their side of the court, which is far worse than their 42-47 singles record. So, this will provide Trinity the opportunity to take an early lead in their match. Since 2010, Trinity is 10-0 against Colorado and has swept every match.
