UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas – The seventh-ranked Trinity men's tennis team cruised to a 5-0 win over Schreiner University in Saturday night's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals.
The Tigers upped their season record to 15-8 and will be play in the SCAC Tournament Championship tomorrow afternoon. Schreiner dropped to 6-12 on the year and is eliminated from the tournament.
Doubles began with the Tiger #3 team of
Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and
Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) earning an 8-0 win.
Dalton Locke (Humble, Texas / Kingwood) and
Rob Chang (Aiea, Hawaii / 'Iolani School) followed that with an 8-2 win at line two, then
Jared Perry (Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills) and
Ethan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win at the top line.
The Tigers opened singles play with six opening-set wins, including 6-0 victories for Dhanani at line five, and
Ivan Nikolovski (Alpine, N.J. / Dwight Global) at line six. Dhanani then won 6-1 in the second to put Trinity up 4-0. Flores then clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #4 singles that sent Trinity to the finals.

Trinity will face either Southwestern University or Colorado College in the SCAC Championship Match, which is scheduled for Sunday, at 4:00 p.m.
