UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas – Trinity's 11th-ranked women's tennis team posted a 5-0 shutout win over Schreiner University in the semifinals of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers improved to 14-4 with the win and advance to the SCAC Championships match. Schreiner dropped to 8-11 with the loss and is eliminated from the tournament.
Rosabella Andrade (Southlake, Texas / Ponderosa) and
Ellie Hughes (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) got the scoring started with an 8-1 win at #3 doubles.
Ruth Hill (Abilene, Texas / Abilene) and
Olivia Kim (Phoenix, Ariz. / Desert Mountain) blanked their opponents 8-0 at the top line of doubles to make it 2-0, then
Trinity Levy (Camarillo, Calif. / Weil Tennis Academy) and
Cate Cushing (Colleyville, Texas / Heritage) completed doubles play with an 8-2 win at line two.
Trinity swept the first set in all six singles matches, but it was Kim and Andrade who finished before anyone else. Kim swept #3 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Andrade did the same at #4 singles to clinch the match victory at 5-0.

Trinity advances to the SCAC Championship match on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Tigers will face the winner of the other semifinal between Southwestern University and Colorado College this afternoon.
