Preview - Up I-35
The Tigers are set for another SCAC road weekend. On Friday, January 17th, Trinity will face the University of Dallas at 5:30 PM. The following day, the Tigers will travel to Sherman, Texas, to take on Austin College at 4:00 PM.
On the Dallas Crusaders: The Crusaders hold a 1-11 record this season, including an 0-3 mark in SCAC play. Their sole victory came against Hendrix College in late December, avenging an earlier loss to the same team. Against stronger opponents like Hardin-Simmons and UT-Dallas, Dallas has struggled, being outscored 182-103. The Crusaders have also suffered two losses to Austin College and most recently fell to Centenary. Senior guard Adryan Alvarez leads the team offensively, averaging 17.9 points per game, while freshman guard Alyssa Sullivan contributes over 10 points per game. No other player on the roster averages more than eight points. The Tigers swept Dallas in both matchups last season and hold a dominant 47-4 all-time record against the Crusaders.
On the Austin College Roos: The Roos hold a 6-5 record (2-1 SCAC) this season. In matchups against Hardin-Simmons and UT-Dallas, they struggled offensively, being outscored 151-87 and failing to score 50 points in either game. In conference play, Austin College secured two wins over Dallas but fell to Ozarks, 71-54. The Roos have three players averaging over 10 points per game but rely heavily on a small lineup, depending on their starters to lead them to victory. Last season, the Tigers swept both games against Austin College and hold a 34-17 all-time record over the Roos.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will continue their road trip against McMurry and Concordia on January 24th and 26th.
