IRVING, Texas – The Trinity University women's basketball team kicked off a road weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a 124-79 victory over the University of Dallas on Friday evening, driven by relentless offensive execution and suffocating defensive pressure.
The Tigers improved to 8-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while Dallas drops to 1-13 overall and remains winless at 0-5 in SCAC. This marks 26 straight wins over Dallas and Trinity also leads the all-time series with a 47-4 record. The 124 points scored is the most for a Tiger team since the regular season finale of the 2022-23 season in which Trinity scored 125 in a win over Southwestern University (TX). This also marks the third time in the last four meetings with Dallas that the Tigers have reached triple digits.
Livy Sauvageau (Houston, Texas / Second Baptist) led all scorers with a career-high 25 points, shooting 61.5% from the field, while
Skye O'Rourke (Austin, Texas / Vandegrift) added 16 points after going 6-of-8 from the field. The Tigers capitalized on multiple scoring runs to extend their lead and seal the game early.
Trinity broke the game wide open midway through the first quarter with an 8-0 run initiated by
Kylie Minter (League City, Texas / Clear Springs), who drained consecutive three-pointers to spark the offense. Minter finished with 15 points and four assists. The Tigers maintained their intensity with a 20-4 run in the third quarter, turning a comfortable 63-42 lead into a dominant 81-46 advantage.
During the third-quarter explosion,
Ivory Scott (Waco, Texas / Waco) and O'Rourke played pivotal roles, combining for three fast-break layups off steals. Their defense smothered Dallas, forcing turnovers that led to easy scoring opportunities. Scott, who finished with eight points, also knocked down a crucial three-pointer that capped the Tigers' largest run of the night.
Trinity's bench proved decisive, contributing 63 points in the game.
Maddie Mueller (Houston, Texas / Concordia Lutheran) delivered a standout performance off the bench, hitting three consecutive three-pointers during a stretch in the second quarter, helping the Tigers outscore Dallas 28-17 in the period.
The Tigers' offensive efficiency was on full display as they shot 58.8% from the field and 56.5% from beyond the arc. Their ability to control the paint also played a key role, outscoring Dallas 58-24 inside and winning the rebounding battle 37-26.

"The airport scene in
Love Actually gets me every time," said Head Coach
Cameron Hill. "The arrivals gate at Heathrow provides a pretty good glimpse into our team this year! Just as Mr. Prime Minister Hugh Grant shares, if you look closely, love actually IS all around! I agree, and it's even better when you have such an incredible ensemble cast to tell the story. ONWARD!"
