Tiger Swimming & Diving Jumps Back Into The Water Against Austin College

Trinity University Swimming & Diving Teams head to Sherman to race against Austin College this weekend.
 
In their last outing, the Tigers swept both titles at the Tiger Invitational in commanding fashion. Both teams secured dominant victories, amassing a total of seven individual and relay wins, along with 11 additional second- and third-place finishes during the swimming finals. Trinity capped off the three-day event by taking first and second place in both of the concluding relay races, putting an exclamation point on their team triumphs. The men's team scored an impressive 1,116 points, finishing more than 100 points ahead of the competition. The women's team was even more dominant, finishing over 600 points ahead of the nearest school with a three-day total of 1,222.5 points.

In a national poll conducted by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the Tiger women were ranked 16th, while the Tiger men secured the 21st spot. The women moved up two places from their previous ranking, and the men climbed three spots. On the men's side, NYU, Emory, and Denison hold the top three rankings, while Emory, Kenyon, and MIT lead the women's rankings.

The Tigers will return to the pool against Austin College on Saturday, January 11th. The Roos have secured wins over McMurry and UT-Permian Basin but lost to Southwestern this season. Theo Rogers is Austin College's top mens swimmer, competing in the freestyle, freestyle relay, and breaststroke events. For the Kangaroo women, freshman Lexy Hulse leads the team and also competes in the freestyle, freestyle relay, and breaststroke events. Trinity previously faced Austin College earlier this season at the Tiger Invitational, where the Tigers dominated with a combined score of 2,483.5-165. In last year's dual meet, the Tiger women triumphed 227-28, while the men won 235-24. This will mark the third consecutive year that Trinity has faced Austin College in a dual meet.
 
Looking Ahead
 
The Tigers will swim against Southwestern at home on January 18th.
