Sewanee, Tennessee - The Tigers traveled to Sewanee, TN this weekend, where they faced off against Sewanee. The Tigers showcased their powerful attack and brick wall of a defense, however, were unable to break ahead, tying the Sewanee Tigers in a 1-1 match.
The Rundown
There was a perfect cool breeze in the Tennessee air, setting up for a perfect evening off soccer and a peaceful escape from the San Antonio heat. The Tiger showcased calmness and technique as the Sewanee Tigers displayed a "kick and run" style playing. While the opposition was a group of stro 'n girls, it was not enough to out muscle the Tigers defense. However, in an unlucky moment, Sewanee found the net in the 29th minute of the first half.
Entering the second half, the Tigers were determined to not let up nor give up. They came out on fire, with forward
Madisyn Barganski (Corpus Christi, TX / Flour Bluff) finding the net with her head off a beautiful cross from defender
Daryan Willyard (Austin, TX / Lake Travis), making the game a 1-1 matchup. The Tigers dominated the rest of the half, registering 6 shots on goal compared to the Sewanee Tigers 2. However, the net was not found and the match ended in a 1-1 tie for the two teams.
