No. 22 Tiger Football hits the road again to take on Sewanee.
The Tigers (6-1, 3-1 SAA) grinded out a 19-14 win against Centre on alumni weekend. Trinity piled up 389 yards of total offense that included 224 rushing yards, while limiting Centre to just 210 yards of offense and a meager 27 yards rushing. The Tigers led 17-7 heading into the fourth quarter, but Centre scored with just over 10 minutes to play to make it a one-score game. Trinity's defense then forced two three-and-outs that gained a total of six yards in six plays and then sealed the win with a safety in the final two minutes.
Xadrian Huerta (San Antonio, Texas / Jay) topped 100 yards rushing for the second time this season and the second time in his career, finishing with 101 yards on just 10 carries. Quarterback
Hondo Franklin (Allen, Texas / Lovejoy) also had a nice day running the ball, piling up 78 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Azriel Ngatcha (Irving, Texas / MacArthur) adding 1.5 tackles for loss to go with seven tackles and a fumble recovery.
Kody Brown (San Antonio, Texas / Harlan) also recorded his third interception of the season.

The Tigers will travel to Sewanee to battle the Tigers of purple and gold on Saturday, November 1st with kickoff scheduled for noon.Â
On the Sewanee Tigers: Sewanee enters the matchup with a 3-4 overall record (1-3 SAA). In non-conference play, the Tigers picked up wins over Bethany College and North Carolina Wesleyan but fell to Brevard College. Conference play began with three straight losses to Maryville, Southwestern, and Berry before Sewanee bounced back with a 28-6 victory over Rhodes last weekend.
Offensively, freshman running back Barton Mixon has been the focal point of the attack, rushing for 552 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He was dominant against Rhodes, carrying the ball 29 times for 201 yards. At quarterback, sophomore Cam Beasley and junior Jacorin Thomas share duties under center. Beasley has thrown for 606 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions, while Thomas has added 380 yards through the air with one touchdown and one pick. The Tigers feature three receivers with multiple touchdown catches, led by junior Dyer Barnes with four.

On defense, defensive back Brody Sanderson leads the team with 38 total tackles and two sacks. Sewanee's defensive front has generated steady pressure, recording 17 total sacks, with four players registering at least three each. Jaylen Mack anchors the secondary with four interceptions this season. On special teams, punter Levi Dorsey has been consistent, totaling 25 punts for 1,013 yards, including six of 50+ yards and seven pinned inside the 20-yard line.
Last season, Trinity defeated Sewanee 45-26. Historically, the Tigers hold a commanding 29-4 edge in the all-time series and have not lost to Sewanee since 1992.
Looking Ahead
The Tigers will host their last regular season home game against Millsaps on November 8th.
