San Antonio, TEXAS – The Trinity women's basketball team returns to Texas this weekend to take on Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry University. The Tigers are 0-3 so far this year and looking for their first win against some familiar competition.
Trinity dropped both games this past weekend at the Champions Classic in Bloomington, IL. In the first game, against No. 10 Illinois Wesleyan University, the Tigers had a slow start and never fully recovered despite battling back within striking distance multiple times. The rebounding edge was a key in Trinity's loss, grabbing 38 while Wesleyan grabbed 48. Lily Sauvageau led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points on 50% shooting. In the second game, the Tigers fell 54-61 to Millikin University. The rebounding edge killed Trinity once again, as well as struggles from the field.
Kylie Minter led the Tigers with 25 points on 50% shooting, but could not make up for her team's scoring woes.
