Â
On The Nichols College Bisons: Nichols is trying to improve upon a 2024 campaign that ended with a 29-13 record and an appearance in the Conference of New England conference tournament. The Bisons have started the 2025 season with a 2-1 record before taking their spring break trip. Senior Utility player Ben Jerome makes a return to the Bisons batting order. He finished last season with a .384 batting average and 27 RBI. One of the starting pitchers returning for Nichols is John Steed, who finished his 2024 season with an ERA of 4.06. This will mark the first meeting between Trinity and Nichols.
Â
On The DeSales University Bulldogs: DeSales is coming off a 2024 season where they finished with an 18-23 record and had an appearance in the MAC Freedom conference tournament. DeSales season has seen them start with a 2-2 record before their spring break trip to Texas. Outfielder Travis Kerr returns for a fifth year with the Bulldogs. Last season he led the team in batting average with .407 and also contributed 22 RBI. Junior Pitcher Mike Hooker is another returner for the Bulldogs and hopes to improve on his 2024 campaign where he posted a 4.57 ERA. DeSales is led by their legendary skipper Tim Neiman, who announced his retirement after the 2025 season after being head coach for 36 seasons. Trinity won a Thursday night matchup at home versus DeSales last year and holds a 14-2 record against DeSales historically.
Â
On The SUNY Cortland Red Dragons: Cortland has played the best of the best to start their season and currently holds a 5-4 record. The Red Dragons have not shied away from competition, seven of their nine games have been against opponents that have at least received votes in the D3baseball top 25 poll. Their most recent opponent was a doubleheader against #3 Johns Hopkins, and Cortland was unceremoniously swept. Senior Catcher Zachary Kringdon is off to a fiery start, swinging .375 with a team leading two home runs to start his season. Senior Pitcher Luis Misla will certainly make an appearance on the mound for the Red Dragons. He's been almost untouchable to start the season with a 1.54 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 11.2 innings. Trinity is 4-4 against Cortland all-time.
Â
On The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders: The Cru have had their highs and lows in their 2025 season. They've won games against Southwestern on one hand, but have lost a game to Schreiner on the other to own a 5-3 record overall before heading into spring break. Cameron Talburt is a senior Outfielder the Tigers will need to keep an eye on, as he has a hit in every game of the season so far for the Cru to bolster a .379 batting average. Watch out for James McGlumphy on the mound for the Cru, the senior Pitcher has been electric for UMHB with an ERA of 2.95. Trinity split a home and away midweek series against UMHB last year and is 30-12 versus the Cru overall.
Â
On The Hardin-Simmons University Cowboys: Hardin-Simmons have struggled to start their season, and have accrued a 3-10 record because of those struggles. The Cowboys will try to avoid the sweep in the home and away series with the Tigers, as Trinity defeated HSU up in Abilene back on March 5th, 8-5. Tiger pitching will try and do better against Sophomore Center Fielder Justin Blancaflor, who hit 4-5 with a double and an RBI last time against the Tigers. The Cowboys used six pitchers against the Tigers in the first matchup, expect more of the same in the second. Trinity is 19-9 against Hardin-Simmons all time.
Â
On The University of the Ozarks Eagles: Ozarks has had a roller coaster of a season so far, starting their 2025 campaign 6-1 before going on a 1-6 skid to end up with a 7-7 (3-6 SCAC) record heading into spring break. Conner Reed has been a hit machine for the Ozarks, hitting .404 at the plate to be a constant scoring threat on the base paths. Trinity will have to deal with junior Pitcher Jake Estrada on the mound for the Eagles, he holds a 2-1 record with a 5.40 ERA and 32 strikeouts. This will mark the first ever meeting between Trinity and Ozarks.
