The No. 11 Tiger Men's tennis team bounced back from a difficult first day at the Stag-Hen Invitational and secured an emphatic 7-0 sweep over No. 24 North Carolina Wesleyan. With this victory, the Tigers improved to 9-7 this season.

The Tigers wasted no time in the doubles, striking first at the #1 position, where the dynamic duo of
Rocco Mendez (Las Vegas, Nevada / Odyssey Charter School) and
Kishan Kersten (Plano, Texas / Plano West) dominated their opponents, winning in commanding fashion 6-1. However, the Battling Bishops responded at the #3 spot, as the powerful partnership of
Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) and
Ethan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) was edged out, losing in a tight battle, 6-4. With the doubles point hanging in the balance, the pressure fell on the #2 team of
Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and
Eric Liao (Taipei, Taiwan / Boca Prep), who delivered a clutch 6-4 win over their opponents, securing the early advantage for Trinity.
Carrying their momentum and a 1-0 lead into the singles, the Tigers overwhelmed their opponents with clinical performances across the board. First off the court was Mendez at #2, who delivered a composed 6-3, 6-3 win to extend the lead to 2-0. The skillful
Jared Perry (Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills) at #1 followed closely behind, sealing a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory and putting the Tigers on the brink of a win. The match-clinching victory came courtesy of the freshman
Ryan Warren (Keller, Texas / Connection Academy) at #3 who ground out a 7-5, 6-1 win, putting Trinity 4-0 up and ensuring the Tigers ended the Stag-Hen Invitational on a high note.
With the victory in hand, the Tigers pushed forward to complete the sweep. Kersten at #4 battled through a three-set thriller, ultimately prevailing 7-5, 5-7, 10-8, while Liao at #6 showed no mercy and delivered a confident 6-2, 6-3 triumph. The final match on court saw Dhanani at #5 edged out his opponent in another tense three-set battle, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 11-9, capping off a perfect day for the Tigers.

Ethan Flores have won SCAC Doubles Team of the Week. This marks the fifth time in seven weeks this season that a Tiger duo has earned this honor, and the second week in a row that Kaczmarczyk and Flores have taken home this award.

Kaczmarczyk, a junior from Aurora, Colorado., and Flores, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, clinched the doubles point for the 11th-ranked Tiger men's tennis team's only match last week, which was a narrow 4-3 loss to #26 Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) University on Wednesday.

Kaczmarczyk, a junior from Aurora, Colorado., and Flores, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, led the 11th-ranked Tigers to a 1-2 record last week, with both losses coming against D-I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Tiger doubles duo went 2-1 in doubles play this week, beginning with a line three 6-2 win against Occidental that clinched the doubles point for Trinity. The Tigers went on to sweep the doubles matches in the 7-0 win. Kaczmarczyk and Flores lost the first meeting with A&M-Corpus 7-5, but then bounced back later in the day to score a 7-6 (8-6) win over the D-I opposition.

The Tigers prepare for a pair of back-to-back matches as they host Kalamazoo (MI) on Thursday, March 25 at 5 PM and Pacific (OR) on Wednesday, March 26 at 5:30 PM at

On the Pacific University Boxers: The Boxers are 5-5 this year with notable wins coming against Whitworth University 6-1, Linfield University 7-2, and the University of Puget Sound 8-1. The Boxers have suffered five defeats this season, losing to Whitman College 2-5, George Fox University 0-7, Montana State University 0-7 (Division 1), and East Texas Baptist University 0-7. The Boxers have also split two matches against Lewis & Clark, who the Tigers defeated 6-1 in the opening match of their spring 2025 campaign. The Boxers were defeated 2-5 in the first meeting against Lewis & Clark but bounced back in the second meeting winning 5-2. The Boxers will look to freshman Joshua Dela Cruz to get on the board. This spring, Dela Cruz is an even 5-5 in singles and 5-5 in doubles, with his most notable victory coming against Lewis & Clark in a 3-set match 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Dela Cruz has competed at line 1 on every occasion this season. Last time out, Trinity defeated Pacific 8-1 in the 2022-2023 season. The Tigers' all-time record against Pacific stands at a perfect 3-0. The Tigers will look to stay undefeated against the Boxers as they are set to face off on Wednesday, March 26 at
Butch Newman Tennis Center.
On the Kalamazoo Hornets: The Hornets are 5-3 this spring with notable wins coming against Oberlin College 6-1, Illinois Tech 7-0, and Ohio Northern University 7-0. Like the Tigers, the Hornets have faced a tough schedule this season, losing to No 10. Arizona 0-7 (Division 1), No. 20 Kenyon 0-7, and No. 35 North Central 2-5. The Hornets will look to senior Adnan Alousi to lead the charge. This season Alousi has recorded a 3-5 record in singles and a 5-3 record in doubles. Alousi's most notable singles victories are a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win via tiebreaker against Ohio Northern University, a 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Anderson University, and a two set 6-2, 6-2 victory against Illinois Tech. Alousi has competed at line one on every occasion this season. Against No. 10 Arizona (Division 1), after losing the first set 0-6, Alousi took the second set to a tiebreaker, where he was ultimately defeated 7–6, with a 7–4 loss in the tiebreak. He was also part of a pair that defeated No 35 North Central College 6-1 in doubles. Last time out, Trinity defeated Kalamazoo 8-1 in the 2021-2022 season. The Tigers' all-time record against Kalamazoo stands at a perfect 3-0. The Tigers will look to stay undefeated against the battle tested Hornets as they are set to face off on Thursday, March 27 at
