The Tigers (27-7, 21-3 SCAC) are fresh off of a dominant sweep of Centenary last weekend. Kaleb Woodward (San Pedro, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) had a field day, slashing .545 (6-11) with two doubles and an RBI that made him a constant presence on the basepaths. Brandon Nelson (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) helped the Tigers win a high scoring game three by going 2-3 with two home runs that tallied five RBI. Brandon Morio (Austin, Texas / McNeil) shutdown the Gents in game two, pitching six shutout innings with eight strikeouts while scattering just two hits.

McDonald was on fire last weekend, batting .538 (7-for13) with three doubles and a home run, scoring four runs and piling up a whopping 10 RBI in the three games. He started with two hits and four RBI in the opener, then had two more hits and his home run in the first game of Saturday's DH. McDonald finished with his best performance of the weekend, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, and four RBI to lead the Tigers to an 18-7 victory.

Preview - The I-10 Challenge: Part 3 - Celt Clash

The Tigers tackle the final leg of the I-10 Challenge against St. Thomas on the road at Houston, Texas, with an opening doubleheader on Friday, April 18th with game one at 2:00 PM, and game two at 5:00 PM, and a final game on Saturday, April 19th at 1:00 PM.

On The University Of St. Thomas Celts: St. Thomas has pieced together a good season for themselves so far and come into the series with a 19-12 (17-7 SCAC) record. Recently, St. Thomas sequestered a close series against Ozarks 2-1 and eliminated Southwestern from SCAC tournament contention with a 10-6 victory against the Pirates yesterday night. The Celts have one of the most prolific hitters in the nation with junior infielder Alex Trinh and his gaudy .492 batting average, which ranks third in all of Division III baseball. Senior pitcher Jacob Mead has been pitching well in his past couple of starts, throwing gems against TLU and Ozarks to set his ERA at 3.94. Trinity swept the Celts in San Antonio last year, and has a 13-1 record against St. Thomas historically.

Nearing The End

The Tigers will return home for the last time in the regular season as they will play a SCAC series against Southwestern for senior weekend from April 25th to April 27th.
