WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The 17th-ranked Trinity University women's golf team finished the second day of the 2025 NCAA III Championships in the top 25, but the second round was left unfinished due to a lightning delay towards the end of the day.
The Tigers are currently below the cut line that moves the top 15 teams into the third and fourth round, though the final cut will not be official until the round is completed tomorrow morning. Trinity improved its first-round score by 11 strokes on Wednesday, shooting a combined 315 in the second round of play. The Tigers are tied for 24th as a team, though only seven teams have completed the first two rounds.
Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) is currently tied for 17th individually after shooting a two-under 70 in today's round. She has a two-day total of 148 (78-70) to lead the Tigers and is in contention to qualify for the next two rounds as an individual. Once the top 15 teams are determined, the next six individuals not on those teams will move forward. Mason was one-under on both the front and back nine today, carding three birdies on the back to remain under par for the day.
Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino (Marbella, Spain / Atalaya) improved her score from day one, shooting a three-over 75 in round two to currently tie for 60th individually with a score of 174 (79-75). She was just one-over on the front and finished with two birdies on the day, playing the final seven holes at one-under.
Carmen Kennett (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) has a score of 171 (83-88) for the tournament, followed closely by
Lauren Huddleston (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek) and her two-day total of 172 (89-83), and
Kate Schulle (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park) with a total of 173 (86-87) in the first two rounds.
