TEMPE, Ariz. – Trinity University men's tennis senior Eric Liao (Taipei, Taiwan / Boca Prep) has been named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association West Region Senior Player of the Year.

Liao was named to the Southwestern Collegiate Athletics Conference All-Tournament Team in both singles and doubles for the first time in his career, while earning All-SCAC accolades in both singles and doubles in 2025. He has earned All-SCAC recognition in singles for three straight years and twice in three seasons in doubles. Liao finished the year with the highest winning percentage on the team in singles play, finishing with a 15-3 overall record – the second-most wins on the team. He also had an 18-6 overall record in doubles, which was also tied for the team lead in doubles wins.

Trinity finished the season ranked 21st in the final ITA Division III poll, advancing to the Third Round of the NCAA Playoffs. The Tigers had an overall record of 17-11 in 2025, winning the program's 15th consecutive SCAC Championship.
