GREENWOOD, Ind. – The sixth-ranked Trinity University baseball team had five players receive Academic All-District® honors, as announced by the College Sports Communicators.
Seniors
Jack Briese (Danville, Ky. / Boyle County),
Nicholas Lazzara (Carrollton, Texas / Jesuit College Prep), and
Trajan Lee (Dallas, Texas / John Paul II) were joined by sophomores
Brandon Morio (Austin, Texas / McNeil) and
Kaleb Woodward (San Pedro, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) on the team for the 2025 season. Lazzara is the only repeat winner of the award, having also earned the honor last year.
All five players were All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performers this season, with Briese and Lee garnering Honorable Mention accolades, Lazzara and Woodward landing on the Second Team, and Morio picking up First Team recognition. Briese and Lazzara have also made the SCAC Academic Honor Roll three times in their careers, while Lee, Morio, and Woodward are all two-time members of the SCAC Honor Roll.
The Tigers are fresh off their fourth appearance in the NCAA III College World Series, losing to second-ranked and eventual champion University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and #15 Rowan University (NJ). Trinity finished the year with a 41-10 overall record under Head Coach
Tim Scannell, who completed his 27th season in charge of the Tiger program. He led the team to its 15th overall SCAC Championship and its 17th appearance in the NCAA Playoffs – including six consecutive tournament appearances.
