BELTON, Texas – The Tigers traveled to the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor Crusaders on Saturday evening. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and while it was not what the team had hoped for, it was a good fight by the Tigers.
The Rundown
The Tigers began the game strong, firing multiple dangerous shots, with forward
Hanna Khan (Southlake, Texas / Carroll) hitting the crossbar, almost putting one on the board for the Tigers. Despite the chances created, the half ended 0-0.
Going into the second half the Tigers were hungry for the first goal of the evening. Unfortunately, the Crusaders found the net in the 69th minute of the game. The Tigers did not let this deter them however and continued to fight despite being down. In the 83th minute of the game, defender
Camille Young (The Woodlands, Texas / The Woodlands Christian) penetrated forward, sending a dangerous ball into the box where forward
Alex Doran (Boerne, Texas / Geneva School of Boerne) ran through the ball, sending it into the back of the net. It was a goal of pure grit and hard work from the Tigers. While they could not find the goal again, they continued to push until the very end. The match resulted in a 1-1 tie, a result that will surely motivate the Tigers to get back on their win streak as they head into conference play.
