AUSTIN – The Tiger women's divers delivered strong performances against tough Division I competition at The Sterkel Classic, including the University of Texas at Austin. Facing a deep and competitive field, the meet provided a valuable opportunity for the Tigers to gain additional high-level competition just ahead of the Southern Athletic Association Conference Championships. It also served as an important chance for the divers to work toward qualifying standards for the NCAA Regional meet.
On the 1-meter board, sophomore
Charlotte Brod (St. Louis, Mo. / Parkway North) led the Tigers with a fifth-place finish. First-years
Andie Torres (San Antonio, Texas / Reagan) and
Juliet Hood (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) followed closely behind, placing eighth and ninth, respectively, while continuing to gain experience against top-tier competition.
The Tigers continued to build momentum on the 3-meter board, where Hood turned in an impressive performance to take third place. Brod followed with a fourth-place finish, and Torres rounded out the event with a sixth-place showing.
The meet offered Trinity's divers a strong test against Division I programs and valuable feedback as they prepare for the postseason.
Looking Forward:
In two weeks, Trinity will travel to Danville, Kentucky, to compete at Centre College in the SAA Conference Championships.
