The Tigers lost both games at the final site, the first being to Whitewater 7-3 and the second to Rowan 13-2. On the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks: The Warhawks are coming off of a season where they won the national championship in dominating fashion. After their 7-3 win against Trinity in their opening game of the World Series, they proceeded to win their next four games by a combined score of 68-16 en route to the national title. Whitewater was led by an imposing offense, which led the nation in batting average, slugging percentage, home runs, runs and hits. Three of their players finished the season in the top four for most hits in the country. Catcher Aaron Holland led the nation in hits, while Adam Cootway and Matt Scolan followed in second and fourth respectively. The biggest question for the Warhawks this season will be how they handle the departures of many key players after they graduated a large senior class. Some seniors on the team last season include Cootway and Scolan, along with outfielder Sam Paden and first baseman Eli Frank, who accounted for a combined 117 RBI. White this may be an unfamiliar roster to Trinity, the Warhawks and Tigers have squared off many times before their match in the World Series. Their most recent meeting in the regular season resulted in a split of four games, with Trinity winning the final two. The series finale saw Tigers' starter Jackson Teer ammas 20 strikeouts in a 9-1 victory.Â
