#14 Men's Tennis Nets 5-2 Road Win Over #18 Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. - The 14th-ranked Trinity University men's tennis team delivered a composed road performance on Saturday morning, taking down No. 18 University of Redlands 5-2 at the Coach Jim Verdieck Tennis Center. In a tightly-contested matchup between nationally-ranked programs, the Tigers leaned on timely doubles play and steady singles execution to secure the win.

Trinity struck first by claiming the doubles point in a competitive opening. The senior duo of Aashish Dhanani (Austin, Texas / Westwood) and Conor Kaczmarczyk (Aurora, Colo. / Regis Jesuit) were first off the courts at #3, handling their opponents 6-2 with confident, aggressive play. Shortly after, the No. 23 nationally ranked pair of Kishan Kersten (Plano, Texas / West) and Jared Perry (Tucson, Ariz. / Catalina Foothills) sealed the point at #1 with a solid 6-4 victory. The Bulldogs picked up the remaining match 7-5 over Ethan Flores (Houston, Texas / Clear Lake) and Roshin Kamath (League City, Texas / Clear Springs) at #2, but it proved just a consolation as the Tigers carried a 1-0 lead into singles.

Singles turned out to be a grind, with the Tigers controlling the key moments to win at four of the lines. The first result went against Kaczmarczyk at #4, where Redlands earned a 6-1, 6-2 win to level the match. Ryan Warren (Keller, Texas / Connection Academy), ranked No. 30 nationally, quickly restored the advantage at #5, producing a strong 6-1, 6-4 performance. Kersten, ranked No. 16, followed at #1 with a composed 6-4, 6-4 victory to push Trinity ahead.

Momentum continued to build as Perry, the No. 20 nationally ranked player, delivered a clean 6-3, 6-4 win at #2 to clinch the team victory. Dhanani then battled through a tight three-setter at #3, falling short in a 10-7 tiebreak to tally another point for Redlands. Kamath capped the day at #6 with a gritty 7-5, 7-5 win to complete the 5-2 result and give the Tigers four singles wins.
On the road against a ranked opponent, Trinity showed poise and depth from top to bottom. It is a performance that should build confidence as the Tigers continue their spring slate.
