Tigers start SAA play for the first time vs Millsaps
This past Tuesday, Trinity broke out of their slump in a big way with a 16-3 run-rule win vs. Texas Lutheran. Trinity scored 15 runs in the first three innings, with nine of them coming in the third. The offensive outburst comes after a series loss to Tufts. After a walkoff win in game one, the Tigers dropped the final two games of the series by scores of 24-9 and 10-2. Trinity allowed 39 total runs in the series, and will look to rebound on the mound entering conference play.

The Tigers conclude their long homestand against Millsaps, as they open their first season of SAA games. The series will begin on Friday, March 20th with a doubleheader. Game one will start at 4 p.m. and game two is scheduled for 7 p.m. The third and final game of the series will be the following day on Saturday, March 21st at 12 p.m.
On the Millsaps College Majors: This weekend the Tigers open conference play against Millsaps College, who won nearly 30 games last season and played in the same four-team regional as Trinity. This season the Majors are 7-9 and are coming off a 3-2 win against Centenary. The mid-week win broke a five game losing streak and helped dull the stink of their 30-6 loss in the prior game. So far this season, the Majors have had issues when it isn't their turn to bat. Millsaps has given up 9.7 runs per game this season, while also ranking 252nd nationally in ERA, 372nd in fielding percentage and 338th in strikeouts per nine innings. Millsaps and Trinity haven't faced each other since 2017, but have played over 100 times in their history. Trinity took eight of the last ten games they played, and the series is even at 36 wins a side when the teams meet as a part of conference play. That tie will be broken this weekend.
Next week
Trinity will continue conference play following the series against Millsaps, as they head to Georgia for their first road series of the season. The Tigers will face Oglethorpe in a three game series that starts on Friday, March 27. Game one is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET), and a doubleheader is scheduled for the next day. Game two will be on Saturday, March 28th, with the first pitch of game two being thrown at 1 p.m. (ET) and game three starting at 4 p.m. (ET).
