No. 13 Tiger Men’s Tennis Returns Home For Four Match Weekend

The No. 13 Trinity University Tigers Men's Tennis returns to San Antonio this weekend for a four-match stretch at the Butch Newman Tennis Center. Trinity will host Hardin-Simmons University on Friday, April 3, followed by conference opponent Oglethorpe University and Our Lady of the Lake University on Saturday, April 4, before closing the weekend against Berry College on Sunday, April 5.

Last Time

Trinity opened conference play with a 7-0 win over Centre College Men's Tennis, controlling the match from the start and not dropping a point. The Tigers followed with a tight 4-3 loss to No. 20 Sewanee: The University of the South Men's Tennis, with multiple courts coming down to the final stages.

The weekend showed both ends of the spectrum for Trinity, from a dominant performance to a narrow conference battle that could have gone either way.

Preview

Hardin-Simmons enters Friday after a mixed stretch of results, including a recent 6-1 win over McMurry and a pair of close 3-4 matches. They've shown the ability to compete across the lineup and will be a solid non-conference test.

Oglethorpe comes in with momentum, picking up a win over Covenant while also competing closely with nationally ranked Emory. They've been strong in conference play and should provide a competitive matchup Saturday morning.

Our Lady of the Lake adds a quick turnaround second match on Saturday, giving Trinity a doubleheader to manage. OLLU has strung together several convincing wins recently, including multiple 4-0 decisions.

Berry rounds out the weekend on Sunday and has been steady in conference play, highlighted by a 6-1 win over Millsaps. They've also been competitive in tight matches, including a 3-4 result against Rhodes.

This weekend gives Trinity a chance to build confidence at home while continuing conference play, with four matches in three days testing both depth and consistency across the lineup.
