Game One - Trinity 9, Sewanee 1

After two scoreless innings, the Tigers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. Jordan Arce (Thousand Oaks, California / Thousand Oaks) started the rally with a single up the middle and stole second. Ella Whitacre (Roanoke, Texas / Byron Nelson) followed later in the inning with a bunt single that moved Arce to third, and after Whitacre stole second, Hannah Boudreaux brought in the game's first run with a groundout. Whitacre also came home on the same play after a Sewanee throwing error, giving Trinity a 2-0 lead.
Sewanee scored its only run in the top of the fourth.
The Tigers answered with two more runs in the fourth. Carsyn Lee led off with a single, moved to second on a Samantha Tagawa (Agoura Hills, California / Agoura) sacrifice bunt, and scored on a Hayden Del Toro (Cypress, Texas / Cy Woods) RBI single. Jordan Arce later reached safely, and Mariana Garcia (Goodyear, Arizona / Canyon View) followed with an RBI single to bring home Del Toro and make it 4-1.
Trinity put the game away in the fifth. Boudreaux opened the inning with a double, and Angela Baltzell (Antioch, California / Freedom) followed with an RBI double of her own to score her. Lee then singled to put runners at the corners, and after Kayci Menchaca (Falfurrias, Texas / Falfurrias) entered to run and stole second, Tagawa delivered a two-run single to score both Baltzell and Menchaca. Later in the inning, Arce dropped down a bunt single that helped Samantha Tagawa score on a throwing error, and Del Toro came home on a wild pitch to end the game.
Game Two - Trinity 10, Sewanee 1
Trinity Softball answered an early Sewanee run with a steady offensive surge and rolled to a 10-1 win in five innings on Saturday in San Antonio.
Sewanee pushed across an unearned run in the top of the first, but Trinity responded immediately in the bottom half.Â
Hannah Boudreaux reached to start the inning, and Carsyn Lee later got aboard as the Tigers put pressure on the defense. With two outs, Josephine Koelewyn lined a double to right-center that brought home both Boudreaux and Lee to give Trinity a 2-1 lead after one.
The Tigers added to the advantage in the second. Mariana Garcia started the rally with a single before Ella Whitacre reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Boudreaux then doubled through the left side to score Garcia and move Whitacre to third. After Angela Baltzell walked to load the bases again, Lee singled to left-center to bring in Whitacre and Boudreaux. Later in the inning, Koelewyn reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Baltzell to score, stretching the lead to 6-1.
Trinity kept the momentum going in the third. Whitacre reached base to begin the rally, and Boudreaux and Baltzell followed to load the bases. Lee delivered again with a single to right that scored Whitacre and Boudreaux, while Baltzell also came home on a Sewanee throwing error on the play. Tagawa added another run with a groundout that scored Lee, giving the Tigers a 10-1 cushion.
Sewanee did not score again, and Trinity closed out the run-rule victory from there.
