Segovia has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
The Tigers earned two shutout victories in SCAC play last
weekend, beating both Centenary College and Austin College.
Segovia scored four goals and an assist in the two games,
leading the team in scoring for the weekend. On Friday,
Segovia scored her fourth career hat trick, becoming just the
second player in school history to score three or more goals in a
game four times.
Against Centenary on Friday, Segovia scored consecutive goals in
the first half to push Trinity to a 3-0 lead by halftime, then
added her third midway through the second period. On Sunday
against Austin College, Segovia contributed a goal and an assist to
lead the Tigers to the weekend sweep.
Segovia is also tied for the team lead with seven goals scored
and 15 points this season. She became the 14th Tiger player
to reach 30 career goals.
Trinity is led by Head Coach Lance Key, who is in his ninth
season with the team. Currently, the Tigers are tied atop the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III
rankings.
